WhatsApp Announces Launch Of Its Free Business App For Small-To-Medium Sized Businesses
Remember when last week WhatsApp announced premium paid business accounts. You may read it here. Well now it’s back with a free business app for small and medium sized businesses so that they can “provide customers with useful notifications like flight times, delivery confirmations, and other updates.”
The said enterprise solution will initially be provided for free but businesses will be charged later. As per WhatsApp’s CEO Matt Idema’s comment in the Wall Street Journal, “We do intend on charging businesses in the future. We don’t have the details of monetization figured out.”
They have also officially announced their closed pilot program, wherein a green tick mark will distinguish verified accounts from fake ones and personal accounts. It was some days ago that WhatsApp started testing verified accounts for businesses, wherein business conversations are encrypted and can also be blocked.
The name of the business, if it’s not stored in your phone contacts, will appear by the name that they have registered the business number with. One more good thing in this is that this will create a business search engine, wherein businesses will be able to make cold calls, for which they’ll probably be charged.
