SnapDeal has more to it other than being an e-commerce corporation from the time a whole village was named after the company. And No, the company has not adopted the village. Snapdeal.com Nagar, originally known as Shiva Nagar is a small settlement in northern India that suffered from a major water shortage like most parts of the country. So following the steps of philanthropist Bill Gates, Kunal Bahl (Founder SnapDeal) decided to install 15 hand pumps to resolve this issue.

Grateful of this gesture, the villagers collectively suggested to name their village after this e-commerce giant. Well, a big kudos to Kunal Bahl and his team.
