Key Players Who Did Not Find A Place In The 2015 Cricket World Cup

Gautam Gambhir

He scored a match-winning 97 in the 2011 World Cup final, and has a batting average of close to 40 runs. Gambhir has always been the Mr. Dependable of Indian team and the opening pair of Gambhir and Sehwag has entertained us for a long time. Poor form and inclusion of young players have resulted omission of Gambhir in the Indian team. He played his last ODI back in 2012.

It’s been more than a year since Pietersen last wore England’s ODI jersey, having been controversially sacked after England’s ill-fated Ashes tour. He even went to media saying Eoin Morgan (England’s captain for ICC World Cup 2015) would love to pick him for England’s World Cup squad, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Since KP has been a match winner throughout his career and has also led to many wins during his captaincy, he being axed seems really shocking.

Did we miss any players that are worth noting? If yes, tell us in the comments section and we shall include them.
