Firefly Daily Staff

Ludhiana based baker and restaurateur created a 65Kg chocolate Ganesha idol to be immersed in milk and fed to the poor. Harjinder Kukreja who owns Belfrance bakery in Ludhiana thought of this wonderful idea in order to curb the pollution caused by POP idols and do something for a cause. He fed the chocolate milk to the underprivileged kids from the streets of Delhi.

Amazing facts:

  • The idol cost him an estimated ₹1L
  • Imported Belgian chocolate was used to craft this idol
  • It was prepared by 20 chefs in 10 days
  • Edible food color was imported from Italy to mark the ornaments of the idol
  • This is the 3rd consecutive year of his edible Ganpati
